Our aim is to provide our children with an engaging, exciting and empowering curriculum that equips them for today and tomorrow.

At Whitecote Primary School the curriculum:

• is engaging and meaningful so that children develop a love of learning
• offers opportunities to all children to enjoy their learning through practical experiences both in and out of school
• is broad and balanced with a clear progression of skills providing access to cultural capital
• develops skills in children, which encourage them to question and inspire them to find their own voice to have a positive impact on their world
• develops vocabulary, deep learning and thinking skills
• sets high expectations which enables children to attain and achieve well in relation to their peers nationally
• develops skills of resilience and independence so that children can grapple with all types of challenges
• ensures that children's spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and, within this, the promotion of fundamental British values, are at the heart of Whitecote's work.

Every child is recognised as a unique individual. We celebrate and welcome differences within our school community. The ability to learn is underpinned by the teaching of basic skills, knowledge, concepts and values with a vision to prepare them for life beyond primary school. We constantly provide enrichment opportunities to engage learning. We believe that childhood should be a happy, investigative and enquiring time in our lives, where there are no limits to curiosity and there is a thirst for new experiences and knowledge.  We use our Whitecote Values (Nurture, Inspire and Challenge) to promote positive attitudes to learning which reflect the values and skills needed to promote responsibility for learning and future success.

Community involvement is an integral part of our curriculum, inviting families and visitors to facilitate learning new skills and sharing experiences such as assemblies, curriculum outcomes and community events.

Children leave Whitecote with a sense of belonging to a tightly knit community where they have the confidence and skills to make decisions, self-evaluate, make connections and become lifelong learners.
