Attendance

Subject: Studybugs – report absence securely and help improve children’s health

Dear Parent/Carer

We’re pleased to announce that Whitecote Primary is introducing a new, more efficient and secure system for reporting your child’s absence due to illness, called Studybugs.

If you haven’t already, please get the free Studybugs app, or register on the Studybugs website, and use it to tell us whenever your child’s ill and unable to attend school.

Get the app or register now (https://studybugs.com/about/parents)

Thank you,
Whitecote Primary School

Top 3 reasons to use Studybugs
1. It’s integrated with our systems so we know right away if your child is unaccounted for.
2. It’s quick and easy to register and use and automatically reminds you to keep us posted.
3. You’ll be helping the NHS and other public health organisations improve children’s health. (https://studybugs.com/about/schools)

100% Attendance Badges

Every term we will be awarding pupils with 100% attendance badges of recognition. The badges will be Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Bronze will be awarded for a full term of attendance.

Silver will be awarded for two full terms of attendance.

Gold will be awarded for a whole school year of attendance.

So even if your child misses out on one term they can still achieve an award next term!

Children with confirmed medical appointments can still achieve 100% attendance.

COVID-19

Shielding, self isolating, bubble collapse and lockdown does not effect your child's attendance.

Please see the example of a child with 100% attendance despite self isolating, having their bubble collapse and home schooling during lockdown.

Please also note we have allowed children with (L), late marks, to achieve 100% due to the unusual staggered starts where difficulties have arisen for children with siblings.
